V for Vendetta.. V for Vetti

vi veri veniversum vivus vici... (or rather by By the power of Truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe" -- Faust?) ..
This season of lights, has downed the lights of atleast the cine-loving folks in TN.. Our film makers, are perhaps, following the foot steps of Ekta Kapoor(famous for her uninhibited use of "K") are now using "V".. Varalaru.. Vallavan.. Vaataram.. Vaathiyar.. Veyil..Vetaiaadu Velai aadu.. Whew.. Seems that the Producers and the directors are using the same astrologer for naming the movies.. Guess they are of the idea that V might be the short cut for Victory....

Wish, they had used the same thinking and planning strategy , they used for naming the movie, in making the movie. Varalaru for starters.. (Or should i be calling that as "God Father") was it intended to be a funny movie or was i the only person who found it funny.. The film had sort of, multiple heroines, with apparently no villain.. The director should be reminded that a movie should have a story line.. or atleast something which goes with common sense.. Ajith should be commended here for his excellent performance in the film though.. But.. I, for one, strongly agree to the idea, that Ganguly and Ajith must be close relatives.. Both are struggling now.. with no end of the tunnel to be seen..

Vallavan... I wanted to see Simbhu's performance in this home-direction movie.. If the rumours of him, ghost-directing manmadhan is true.. then Vallavan should have been a block-buster.. It starts with a fizz.. and ends without even making a bubble... He prances around with girls who are older, heavier, stronger and i guess, smarter than him, making a mockery of the film.. He chooses a girl, who is attractive, smart, suave and sexy.. whom, all his friends and family find to be attractive.. He then dresses up like a stupid ugly guy and goes around proposing her.. When the girl does not reply, he questions her philosophy..

He says, love should not be based on the outer appearance of the person.. He wants a good-looking girl , but he wants the girl to accept a stupid looking person.. Hows that for logic???
I guess, he is all out to make a loose of the audience.. His loosu penne.. is good only on the music front.. The film, now should run on the shoulders of the wonderful music by Yuvan ( thanks to the FM ppl here )

And speaking of "V", who can forget Vijay Kanth.. His latest venture "Dharmapuri".. I,seriously, could not understand the director's claim of making a movie here.. Either he should have been day-dreaming while making the movie or he must have assumed that the audience have a IQ less than his.. <which explains his creative thoughts of using a plate as bullet-proof shield). The use of computers to view his latest image is an old idea.. but.. having to use an astrologer to find his whereabouts.. it beats everything.. Hats off to the person, who had that brain-wave..

Vetaiaadu Velaiaadu.. was good in the first half.. and dragged its feet during the second half..it had all the ingredients of making it to classic thriller movies... but it was a huge let down in the second half...Vaathiyar and the other V's.. I have not seen them.. but..i dont expect a better fare from them either.. it might be a huge market.. but the ware's are the same..

All said and done, i still , dont understand why our movies can't be better.. Why can't they have a story that does not defy common sense and hero's who dont defy Physics ( hope that Einstein did not turn in his grave ).. Why can't they give us something better???

Vetti aah.. Veeraapa.. Verumenae Vishayame ilama.. Veembuku oru movie yedutha eppaddi????

vi veri veniversum vivus vici...
